2 Day Painting Weekends and 4 Day Painting Workshops on Achill Island, Co.Mayo

Who are they for?: My workshops are aimed at painting enthusiasts who have painted a little and would like to explore some new ways of approaching their painting. What to expect: For the Achill worskshops we will use the landscape and coast of Achill as our inspiration, so rain wear and sun cream are essential! The workshops will involve a mix of daily talks and demonstrations by Padraig , painting and sketching on location at some of Achill's most beautiful spots (weather permitting) and indoor studio based work to develop and finish initial sketches and paintings. Over the course of the workshops we will look at elements such as composition and perspective, colour and movement, and how they contribute to successful landscape and coastal paintings. 

Each day starts at 11.00am and finishes at 5.00pm with a break of an hour for lunch.

What to bring:  Participants are asked to bring their own materials and easel. However materials easels, canvas, paints) can be provided if booked in advance. I work in oils but participants are welcome to use acrylics if they wish.

Cost:   The cost for the 2 day workshops is €125, and €250 for the 4 day workshops. This includes the cost of tuition only.

Payment: To book a place on one of my workshops you have the option to pay online now (deposit or full payment) or if you do not wish to pay online you can secure a place by sending a deposit of €50 or full payment to: Padraig McCaul, Dugort, Achill, Co.Mayo. If you are looking for a real treat then I am very happy to recommend Bervie Guesthouse in Keel, Achill. Situated in a stunning location, facing onto Keel beach, this is one of the most comfortable and friendliest guesthouses in the country. Contact Liz at 098 43114.
